Legend
I’ve been listening to Mike Stern since 1991. I’ve never seen this performance. Thank you. Mike’s playing has been such a wonderful blessing to my life.
Does anyone know where I can find a lossless or less compressed version of this file? This song is amazing
Best version ever of this tune. Dennis, Randy and Mike nailed it here
Sensacional!
When you're on, you're on. They were on.
Discovered this in September 2023. It was a highlight with notation transcription of the sax solo on Facebook. This tune got me through a bit of a hard time just before another hard time hit me. I almost lost the video but I keep coming back to it. I can’t really express what this song makes me feel other than it’s almost the perfect spirit lifting piece for me. It makes you reflect. It kinda tears you down and the builds you back up in a musical sense. If you hear music how I do, that will make perfect sense. I heard this right before I picked up my old trumpet for a performance again around September or October and it kinda put the spirit of the music back in my mind. I saw someone say something about this solo in the comments here about how the band was asking the saxophonist for more and he just kept giving right there at 5:50. That’s everything a solo should be in my book… like it’s own song in the main song.
His brother also did his thing on that Trumpet solo as well..
the fist electronic part just sounds like la cucaracha
金ある時はカフェまで行って紅茶飲みながらこれ聴いて涙してる。最高すぎるぜ
Till this day I still come back just for this solo, it really is soul touching!
Yassssss 5:08 he was playing playing
I was there, an unforgeteable concert.
No kidding? This is seriously one of my favorite musical performances of all time. Lucky.
@@theshapeexists No kidding at all, I live 15 miles away from there. We had the Olympics on 1992 and the cultural offer was great that year ;)
Stern's sound is just so unique and original. He's so identifiable. Then again, so is Michael Brecker. His work with John Abercrombie in particular comes to mind. Just great stuff here.
Damn...
So glad I got to see Stern and Brecker a few times many years ago. We still miss you Mr Brecker!
Freebird for posh people.
Mike just can't wait to get to his tenor... he knows he has a message for all humanity and beyond.... what a talent....
No excuses necessary; receive a well-earned : 'order of you-tube jazz merit' for posting this landmark performance... crazy non-intelligent pitch-shifting isn't quite as extreme as on the album cut but the tenor solo is an earth-message to distant civilisations of our goodwill... two-to-the-bar you green guys !!! peace !!!
Crazy to think that all those people that attended this concert live, never realized that they would witness live, in person, hear the best saxophonist ever, play literally one of, if not THE best, saxophone solo ever played
100%
Does a record of this concert exist?
Michael
Wow tears again… what a beautiful vibe…. Feeling it more and more about these wonderful brothers ❤️
Brecker isn't just playing the saxophone.....he's singing....and it brings me to tears.
The first time I heard his solo I cried. Was lucky I got to see the giant before he left us.
brrrr goosebump
Soaring melodies. RIP Michael Brecker. <3
Video has changed my life about music. I watch it every week.
Why does this not have millions of views, this is amazing! The whole band absolutely killed it!
I dont know
Does this version exist on Spotify?
Thank you man!!
Adam Nussbaum drivin that truck straight through the ice like it’s his last day on planet earth. That’s the deal. 🎖 They brought the A+ game for the people that day. I used to have this on vhs. Wore it though.
3:48 - 6:33 The late great Michael Brecker knew how to make a grown man cry 😢
One of the best solos of all times for me!!!
I have listened to this hundred times. I just do not get tired of it. Two great solos. Even the greatest musicians have their especial performances.
Брекер и Штерн лучшие!!!
Probably the best contemporary jazz solo EVER by a Saxophonist
This solo is nothing without the tremendous uplifting drumming of Dennis chambers . He gave Mike the inspiration to soar the heavens and touch the angels.
И кстати да! Он играет прекрасно... как мы раньше этого не замечали
Felt the same when I heard Keith Garrett's 'Long As You Know You're Living Yours" for the first time.
My toddler cannot get enough of mike's solo
Wow!! This is a where we’re you moment from my childhood. My Dad actually called me from bed (after my bedtime) to come downstairs and see this. Permanently burned into my brain
Fucking god, and he tell me micheal ist god
2023 watching It for a thousand time! In tears and heart exploding.
It feels so right! Every note is in its place!

5:04 to 6:18 is the pinnacle of tenor sax solos in the modern Era of jazz.

ПРОСТО ОХУИТЕЛЬНО!!!!!
ОТРЫВ ГОЛОВЫ!!!
